If you haven’t experienced VR yet, it’s very hard to explain how interesting it is, and it’s certainly come a long way since the days of the Oculus Go. In fact, a lot of modern VR headsets don’t necesessarily need you to have a high-end gaming PC to play on VR, and even games like Half-Life: Alyx are playable on standalone headsets. There are also a lot of great gaming PC deals you can buy instead of grabbing them on the VR marketplace for specific headsets, so there’s a lot more variability these days.

Either way, VR headsets can get quite expensive, which is why we’ve collected some of our favorite deals below. It’s also worth checking out these video game deals for a few options as well.

Meta Quest 2 (Renewed Premium) — $349 $379 8% off

Even though the Meta Quest 3 came out quite recently, the Meta Quest 2 is still a pretty powerful contender, especially since it has a wider library and app support than the Quest 3 currently has. Even more so, the Quest 2 is a lot cheaper than the Quest 3, and with the latest permanent discount down to just $200, that’s a whole $300 or so difference from the Quest 3. Of course, the Quest 3 does have more advanced AR and slightly better performance with software and Wi-Fi, but that may not be worth the extra cost for some. Either way, be sure to check out the breakdown between Quest 2 and Quest 3 to get a better sense of what you should pick up.

Meta Quest 3 — $500 $650 23% off

If you’re the type of person who moves around a lot and likes to share their games and gaming gear with friends, then this bundle that includes this hard-shell custom travel case is the way to go. It has a spot for all the gear, including headphones and cables, and will protect your Quest 3 pretty well. So, if you find that you travel a lot and want to make sure that your VR headset is protected, it’s hard to find a better package deal out there.

HTC Vive XR Elite with Deluxe Pack — $699 $899 22% off

While the HTC Vive XR Elite is a slightly older VR headset, it’s a solid option if you don’t want to go with the Quest. It has a combined 3840 x 1920 resolution, with a very respectable 110-degree field of view, and a very solid 90Hz refresh rate, which helps a lot with things like dizziness. The hand tracking is also pretty excellent, probably as good if not better than the Quest 2 or 3, and you have several ways you can wear the headset depending on how you want to use it. You see, much like the Quest, it can run in standalone mode that doesn’t require a connection to a PC, although the option for apps is much smaller, and the Vive XR Elite really is made more for connecting with a PC.

More on VR deals

Just a few years ago, the biggest names in the VR headset market consisted of HTC and Oculus; however, in today’s market, we have numerous head-mount displays across various brands including HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung. Even Sony has thrown its hat in the ring in the form of the PlayStation VR headset. With the increased competition in the VR hardware market, the overall quality of headsets has become more polished, and the increasing number of headset options is excellent news for both gamers and deal hunters.

Typically, some of the best deals are found on third-party retailers, including Amazon and Walmart; however, the biggest names in the market, HTC and Oculus, have special promotions available on their websites. Most notably, both companies are providing drastic price cuts on their newer products, the HTC Vive Cosmos and the Oculus Quest, and in each case they are bundling an additional item alongside the headsets.
