Rumors about Apple’s first foldable iPhone have been circulating for well over a year, with reports repeatedly indicating that the company is preparing to enter the foldable phone market later this year. A new leak may now offer the clearest look yet at the device’s possible design.
Alleged 3D CAD-based renders of the iPhone Fold have surfaced online, offering an early look at its design. The images, shared by Sonny Dickson on X, reveal a squat, book-style foldable with a camera island that resembles the one seen on the iPhone Air. It spans the entire width of the device but, unlike Apple’s slim phone, houses two sensors alongside what appear to be an LED flash and a secondary microphone.
The device appears to feature a two-tone finish similar to the iPhone 17 Pro models, with a rectangular panel beneath the camera island that houses the Apple logo and has rounded corners. The cover display also has rounded edges, somewhat reminiscent of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, along with a centered hole-punch cutout, which is unusual for an iPhone.

The second image shows the folding display that stretches all the way to the rounded corners, with slim bezels on all sides. It also features a hole-punch cutout for the inner selfie camera, positioned in the top-left corner. Other details visible in the images include a USB-C port on the bottom edge of the right half, a speaker grille on the bottom edge of the left half, and three buttons along the right edge.
The renders match rumored dimensions and display specs
The design mirrors details revealed in previous leaks, which suggested that Apple may choose a short and wide form factor instead of the tall, narrow design seen on other book-style foldables, like the Galaxy Z Fold 7. The iPhone Fold is rumored to measure 3.30 inches wide, 4.75 inches tall, and 0.38 inches thick when folded. Unfolded, the device is said to measure 4.75 inches tall, 6.60 inches wide, and just 0.19 inches thick.
As for the displays, the device is expected to feature a 5.49-inch cover screen with a 2,088 x 1,422 resolution and a massive 7.76-inch folding screen with a 2,713 x 1,920 resolution. Little is known about the device’s internal specifications or camera hardware at this point. More details are expected to surface in the coming months as we draw closer to the rumored September 2026 launch.
