As the Section Editor for Digital Trend’s Mobile team, I use a lot of phones throughout the year. Some are good, others are great, and some are downright bad. When you use dozens upon dozens of different smartphones over 12 months, it can be easy to forget about some of them. However, others leave a lasting impact on you. One such phone is the Motorola Razr Plus 2024.

Released earlier this summer, the Razr Plus is about as good as a flip phone foldable gets in 2024. It has a fantastic design, an excellent cover screen, dependable cameras, and surprisingly good battery life. At launch, the Razr Plus 2024 was an easy recommendation at its full $1,000 price tag. But for Cyber Monday, it can be yours for as little as $650. If you’ve been thinking about buying a flip phone but haven’t gotten around to doing it, this is the sale that should push you over the edge.

There’s so much I enjoy about the Razr Plus 2024, but a few things in particular have kept it as one of my top phones of the year. One of those is the design. The Razr Plus 2024 comes in four colors: Spring Green, Hot Pink, Midnight Blue, and Peach Fuzz. They’re all visually stunning, and they feel great, too.

The first three colors are made of vegan leather, while Hot Pink has a vegan suede finish. Personally, I’m partial to Spring Green, but there’s not a bad color in the bunch.

The bold look is also helped by a vastly improved hinge. Where the Razr Plus 2023 felt a bit floppy, the Razr Plus 2024’s hinge is significantly smoother and more confidence-inspiring. Further, with an IPX8 water resistance rating, you can use the Razr Plus in the rain or snow and be confident in its durability.

Another highlight of the Razr Plus 2024 is its cover screen. The 4-inch OLED panel looks incredible, offering a 1272 x 1080 resolution, up to 2400 nits of peak brightness, and a ridiculous 165Hz refresh rate.

It’s sharp, bright, and as smooth as you could ask for. Even better, Motorola lets you do virtually anything you’d like with it. You can manage and respond to notifications, check the weather, view your calendar, and run any application you’d like — whether it be YouTube, Amazon, Google Photos, Bluesky, etc. Having used this and the Galaxy Z Flip 6, I far prefer Motorola’s cover screen experience on the Razr Plus 2024. Not only is it a larger and higher-quality display, but it’s also much more user-friendly and far more functional. On a flip phone, that’s a big deal.

On top of all that, the Motorola Razr Plus 2024 also nails other important fundamentals. The 50MP primary and telephoto cameras are far better than I expected them to be, delivering colorful and pleasing shots I think you’ll be quite happy with. Battery life easily lasts more than a day even with regular use, the 45W wired charge speeds are respectable, and performance from the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chip is excellent.

Ready to get a Razr Plus 2024 for yourself? If you buy the phone at Best Buy and activate it with Verizon or AT&T, you get the maximum $350 discount for a final price of $650. If you don’t want to activate it, you can still get a very good $250 discount and buy the phone for $750 without any carrier hassle. Alternatively, sites like Amazon and Motorola’s official website have the Razr Plus 2024 for $800 outright (still a good savings of $200).
