How to refund Fortnite skins and more on all platforms

There’s a lot of cool stuff to purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop. Epic Games is constantly rotating new items into the shop, ensuring there’s always something new for you to try. But what happens if you regret one of your purchases? Are you stuck with it forever? Or can you refund your Fortnite skin?

The answer is a bit complicated. Fortnite uses a Return Ticket system that lets you refund select purchases. Your account initially comes with three Return Tickets. Return Tickets are accrued at a rate of one every 365 days, with your account holding a maximum of three tickets.

If you need help with the process, here’s how to use your Return Tickets to refund Fortnite skins.

How to refund a skin in Fortnite

Refunding a skin in Fortnite should only take a few minutes.

Step 1: Load Fortnite and navigate to the main menu.

Step 2: Open the settings menu, then scroll to the Support and Refunds submenu.

Step 3: From here, you’ll be shown a list of items that are eligible for a refund. You’ll also see how many Return Tickets are left for your account.

Step 4: Choose the item you want to return, then follow the on-screen prompts.

Step 5: That’s it! Your account will be credited with the appropriate amount of V-Bucks. Keep in mind that most items can be returned within 30 days of purchase using a Return Ticket, while you can cancel in-game cosmetic purchases within 24 hours if they’ve yet to be equipped.

What if I can’t get a refund in Fortnite?

It’s important to note that there is a limitation on what items you can refund in the game. You can refund cosmetic items like skins, outfits, emotes, parachutes, and so on. These aren’t just limited to the skins that you purchase in the item shop. But you can’t refund skins or any of those other items you earned through unique events, challenges, or Battle Pass. The rule of thumb is, if you didn’t spend money or V-Bucks directly on the skin, then you can’t refund it.

You can’t refund the Battle Pass itself, so be absolutely sure you really want it before spending money on it. Additionally, you can’t refund purchases on V-Bucks. This is the virtual currency that is used to buy cosmetic items in Fortnite, and while you can refund skins for V-Bucks, you can’t refund V-bucks for real-world money.
