I could spend hours browsing Amazon’s beauty deals. (In fact, I have.) The pretty packaging! The super ingredients! The sleek gadgets! This year’s Prime Day beauty deals bring a great opportunity to restock your favorite products or to try something new for cheaper than usual. But like other categories, it can be difficult to find the best deals on products that are safe and good. We’ve sifted through the random supplements and sketchy teeth-whitening gels to find the real deals on products we’ve tested. Be sure to read our Absolute Best Prime Day Deals list for more.

We test products year-round and handpicked these deals. We’ll update this guide periodically throughout the sale event.

Beauty and Health Deals

Not all sizes are discounted, but as of this writing the 1 1/4-inch model is $133 on Amazon and the 1-inch is $120 from Walmart. This is one of the best flat irons I’ve ever used and I’m furious that I didn’t try it sooner than a few months ago. It made my coarse hair pin straight in one to two passes, even the time I straightened hair loaded with curling products (don’t judge me, I was in a rush). The outer housing also heats up, which should help if you usually struggle making curls with a flat iron. I really just don’t like where the temperature controls are, as I frequently press them while just trying to use it. —Medea Giordano

I’ve used the viral Cosrx Snail Mucin every day for years. I think it makes my skin glowier, bouncier, and more hydrated, and it’s also quite affordable. The snail mucin is on sale by itself today, but if you’re looking for an inclusive skin regimen, it’s worth getting this all-in-one skin care kit. It includes a cleanser, an essence, an (excellent) eye cream, and a moisturizer. Obviously you should not use these products if you’re allergic to snails. But if you want soft, hydrated, glowy skin, these travel-sized products are absolutely worth it, especially when discounted for Prime Day.

Red light therapy has been trending lately because it really works to reduce wrinkles. But full face masks are pricey, with the good ones starting at $400 and going up from there. Solawave’s Radiant Renewal Wand is a good introduction to red light, especially if you have only a small area you want to target—like under your eyes or the “11” lines between your brows. As you run the red light over your skin, the wand warms up and vibrates. It feels genuinely relaxing to use. —Medea Giordano

This excellent hair straightener has 1-inch plates and only one temperature option—365 degrees Fahrenheit. It also has a neat trick up its sleeves … er, plates: HD Motion-Responsive technology, which means it delivers even heat distribution based on your styling motions. You’ll do less damage to your hair! It also has rounded styling plates for easy curl creation. If you typically crank up your flat iron’s heat to the highest setting, the Chronos is worth checking out. WIRED reviewer Brenda Stolyar says she was impressed with the speed at which she could style her hair, even at a lower temperature than what she’d typically use.

More luxurious hair tools are on sale today too. The Dyson AirWrap (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is featured in our Curling Iron Buying Guide and our list of the Best Viral TikTok Gifts. The Amazon Exclusive Bundle comes with the same tools and attachments as the standard nine-piece kit, but you’ll also get a storage bag and a detangling comb. The Dyson AirWrap has tons of attachments that can be swapped for different styling techniques. It also has some fancy automation—hold a section of hair to the barrel and it’ll automatically wrap itself around. The heat comes from hot air, not hot plates, so the AirWrap is gentler on your locks than traditional curling irons. There are four heat settings, three speeds, and a cold shot button for easier setting. This is an advanced hair tool—there’s a reason your hairstylist probably has an AirWrap at their workstation. But if you can get used to the technique, this is a worthwhile investment.

Click the on-page coupon to apply this discount. The Solawave is great, but you can target wrinkles and acne for even less with a high-frequency wand. Electrical currents activate the gas within the glass wands, oxygenating the skin and in turn, stimulating collagen and killing acne-causing bacteria. Officially, the orange neon gas found in this kit is best for wrinkles and purple argon gas is better for acne. NuDerma has a kit with both, but I’ve never used the argon version and found the neon gas made my pimples disappear. Not everyone should use high-frequency, so avoid it if you’re pregnant, have a pacemaker, or have metal plates. —Medea Giordano

Dyson also discounted the Airstrait, which dries and straightens hair in a single, impressive step. Mileage will vary depending on hair type, length, and thickness, but WIRED reviewer Brenda Stolyar highly recommends it and says it took her styling time from an hour to around 25 minutes. It did a remarkable job of straightening my coarse hair too, though it took longer rather than saving time. It does, however, cut out the need for hot plates. If you straighten your hair often, it could help give it some life back. —Medea Giordano

Therabody makes quality self-care tools, like its well-known Theragun massagers, but the whole lineup is a splurge. The TheraFace Pro combines face washing with percussive therapy, microcurrent, and LED lights—red for anti-aging, blue for acne, and infrared for calming inflammation. It’s weirdly not waterproof, so you can’t wash your face in the shower. It made our tester’s skin softer and brighter, and even helped relieve pressure caused by allergies. —Medea Giordano

I love this product. I keep it on my nightstand and take it everywhere with me. The balm is thick, almost goopy, but it melts down and sinks into your lips right away, so they never feel too sticky or heavy. It’s incredibly hydrating, and it smells so good. Chapped lips? Could never be me. Even in the brutal Midwest winter; even in dusty, sunny festival conditions; even with my nervous habits of vaping and lip-biting. Nope. My lips stay smooth year-round, and it’s all thanks to this lip mask. It also lasts forever—a little goes a very long way. I’m still using the tub I bought two Prime Days ago. My only nitpick is that it’s easy to lose the little included spatula. An inexpensive reusable applicator can do the trick if fingers in your products bother you.
