The Amazon Prime Big Deal Days sales event brought some pretty impressive iPad deals. Now that it’s ended there are still some stragglers, so here we’ve focused on the best Prime Day iPad deals. These Prime Day tablet deals were some of the best we’ve seen all year, and some of the special discounts remain. While the sales event may have Amazon in the name, other retailers also have their own sales, and that means we’ve looked at many different retailers to find the biggest savings on many different iPad models. Below, you’ll find some of the best Amazon Big Deal Days iPad deals.

Apple iPad (9th Generation, 64GB, Wi-Fi) — $199 $329 40% off

Back when we got our hands on the 9th generation Apple iPad, we felt that ” . . . in terms of value and power for the money, this is the only game in town,” and a lot of that still holds true today. This version has 64GBs of storage and is Wi-Fi only, but it does also come for only $199, which is peanuts for an Apple device, even though it runs the older A13 Bionic chip.

Apple iPad (10th Generation, 64GB, Wi-Fi) — $299 $349 14% off

While our reviewer Joe Maring originally felt that “the iPad (2022) is a fantastic tablet in a bubble. But compared to the rest of Apple’s lineup, it’s just too confusing,” the truth is that it’s become a lot more clear in the past few years. For just under $300, with this deal, you not only get a large 10-inch iPad, but it also comes with the A14 Chip, so it’s relatively new and powerful and a great option for those who want to save a little on an iPad.

Apple iPad Mini (6th Generation, 64GB, Wi-Fi) — $350 $499 30% off

If you want a smaller but more powerful tablet, you’ll love this 6th-gen iPad Mini, especially with our reviewer saying that “the iPad Mini is officially my favorite iPad ever, and it will do most of the things you want a tablet to do really well.” It has the really powerful A15 Chip and an 8.3-inch liquid retina screen, so it’s small, powerful, and comes with a great 30% off the list price.

Apple iPad Air 11-inch (M2, 128GB, Wi-Fi) — $549 $599 8% off

Of course, if you’re willing to pay a little extra, then you’ll love the 11-inch iPad Air, especially since our senior mobile writer, Andy Boxall, felt that “the Apple iPad Air (2024) will be all the iPad most people need.” One of its biggest selling points is that it comes with the really powerful M2 Chip, so you get laptop and desktop-level performance in a tiny(ish) little body, although you only get 8% off.

Apple iPad Air 13-inch (M2, 256GB, Wi-Fi) — $828 $899 8% off

If you like the 11-inch iPad Air but want a bit more screen size to work with, this larger 13-inch version is worth grabbing, even though it’s only a $7 discount. That said, you do get a much larger 256GB of storage, so it’s great for those who constantly struggle with space issues.

Apple 11-inch iPad Pro (M2, 1TB, Wi-Fi) — $1,099 $1,499 26% off

When our section editor got his hands on the iPad Pro, he felt that “it’s big, expensive, and you probably don’t need it. But if you have the cash to burn, the iPad Pro (2022) is the pinnacle of what a flagship tablet should be.” Luckily, it has a substantial $500 discount, so any issues with the price are very much mitigated, making it easier to justify snagging one.

How to choose an iPad on Prime Day

If you’re not sure where to begin when buying one of the best tablets, start by narrowing down your options. Think about your budget and think about what screen size you need. The bigger the screen, the pricier the device — but bigger devices are often more powerful. If you need something to replace your laptop, check out the latest iPad Pro (2024) with an M4 processor. It’s incredibly powerful but could be overkill for some people as it also sports a huge (but beautiful) screen. It may not be the most portable of tablets, but it’s more powerful than many laptops and can be used well as a graphics tablet or for editing videos, gaming, or seemingly everything else you can think of.

If you need something more portable, check out the iPad mini, which we described as a “little powerhouse.” It’s the iPad I use and easily one of the best iPads for combining portability with surprisingly good performance. I find it the perfect alternative to grabbing my laptop while still getting to enjoy a bigger screen than using my phone. It’s good as an all-rounder tablet for browsing the internet and watching videos, while the iPad Pro range is best for video editing and other advanced tasks.

How we chose these iPad Prime Day deals

An iPad isn’t a cheap purchase even when on sale. That’s why we make sure we’re experts in the field. We’ve reviewed almost every model of iPad over the years, so we know our way around each tablet. We know about different screen technologies as well as what each processor means in daily use, so we can expertly recommend select models.

In conjunction with that expert knowledge, we also know a good price when we see it. Because of that, we make sure that the iPads we feature are worth owning. If we feature an older model, it’s because it’s available at an exceptionally good price, while the focus is generally on the latest range including the standard iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro. Each of these models have a different purpose, so we’ve made sure to consider that in our summaries.
