Honor Magic V5 will go official next month in China. Ahead of the launch, the tech brand has posted multiple teasers online showcasing the design and specifications of the handset. It is confirmed to come with a silicon carbon battery. Additionally, an unboxing video of the Honor Magic V5 has emerged on the Web, offering a hands-on look at its design. In the video, the foldable is seen in a red shade with a bundled 66W adapter. The foldable is said to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.

The Honor Magic V5 battery capacity was revealed by the company through a Weibo post. It is teased pack a 6,100mAh ‘Qinghai Lake blade’ battery with 25 percent silicon content. Essentially, the foldable will feature a silicon carbon battery. The 6,100mAh battery is a notable upgrade over last year’s Magic V3, which had a 5,150mAh battery. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is tipped to feature a 4,400mAh battery.

Honor Magic V5 Leaked Unboxing Video

Meanwhile, an unofficial unboxing video said to be of the Honor Magic V5 has leaked online, showcasing its design elements and specifications. The video shows the Silk Road Dunhuang (translated from Chinese) colour variant of the phone in a black coloured retail box. Besides the handset, the retail package includes a 66W charger, a USB cable, and a protective case. The video highlights the slim build of the phone and a circular-shaped gold-accented rear camera module, resembling the Magic V3. The arrangement of camera sensors is said to be slightly different.

The protective case is seen in the same colour as the Honor Magic V5 with a lens ring that doubles as a stand. The phone appears to have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

As per the video, the handset runs on a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and packs a 6,100mAh battery. It is said to include a C1 colour display chip and an E2 power chip. The phone is tipped to measure 4.1mm when unfolded. Meanwhile, Honor had already revealed that it measures 8.8mm in the folded state.

The Honor Magic V5 is said to weigh 217g, however, the video shows that it weighs 224g, which is likely due to the screen protector. Along with the case, the foldable is seen to weigh 253g. The hinge is said to offer 70 and 90-degree viewing angles.

Honor Magic V5 is scheduled to launch in China on July 2. The brand is currently accepting pre-orders for the device and it will be sold in Dawn Gold, Silk Road Dunhuang, Velvet Black, and Warm White (translated from Chinese) shades. The foldable will be available in 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB RAM and storage configurations.
